(Proverbs 15:27) He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Greed simply means intense and selfish desire for materialistic things. It is also the rapacity and cupidity for carnal things. The fear of the future has thrown some men into the perdition of greed. This has equally spur them into illegal amassing of wealth, power etc. Today people siphon public funds out of greed just to secure their future. Child of God, greed is the avenue to voluntarily allow Satan to wrought catastrophic destruction upon your life and destiny.
Greed is the fruit of the devil which ruptures the glorious destiny of a man. Greed sponsors covetousness. It garnishes your life with the condiments of cheating. Greed is the demonic fertilizer that nurtures and nourishes the spirit of self-centeredness in the life of a man. Greed gives Satan the unhindered access to anoint you with the oil of Wickedness. It Spurs you into suppressing the growth and success of others.
Beloved, any acquisition of things amassed through the channel of greed births destruction. It was the operations of greed that utterly destroyed king Ahab. Out of greed, he desired the vineyard which is the only inheritance of Naboth from his ancestors. Greed made king Ahab to allow his wife to falsely accused Naboth of blasphemy and he was stone to death and the king Ahab illegally acquired the vineyard. His actions of greed made him to die prematurely (1 Kings chapter 21 & 22). Allowing the operations of greed to overtake your principles is the tunnel to calamitous ending.
Child of God, greed ruptures your relationship with God. It also dents your image in the sight of men (Proverbs 22:1). Greed places you in the hall of dishonest people. It repels men with substance from dealing any business with you. Wealth acquired through the portal of greed disappears quickly (Proverbs 13:11). Beloved, to overcome the operations of greed, you must build your faith and trust in God for His blessings maketh rich and adds no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).
Meditation: Greed is the fruit of the devil which ruptures the glorious destiny of a man and it is the demonic fertilizer that nurtures and nourishes the spirit of self-centeredness in the life of a man.
