Bible Text:
James 4:7
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
– The Word:
– God is sovereign, and He makes the rules [Colossians1:16, Psalm 115:3, Isaiah 46:10).
– The rules are aimed at taking us to a level where our lives consistently maintain His image and likeness. This is the essence of our creation (Genesis 1:27, 2 Timothy 3:16, Joshua 1:8).
– Submission to God is an act of consciousness, through His grace and mercy, in modelling our lives to align with His thoughts, plans and will (Deut. 13:4, Ezekiel 20:19, Ephesians 2:4-5).
– When we submit to God, His Word becomes our life, and our lives become hidden in His Word. This is a major offence and defence against resisting the devil and his works, as the devil cannot operate in an environment that is filled with the Word of God (Psalm 119:105, James 1:22, Psalm 119:9).
– Submit the entirety of your live to God today, and see your life transformed by the power of His grace.
