The power of Gratitude – Pst Mercy Adun

Thanksgiving is a lifestyle.
It’s not something you feel like doing or not doing.

When you see a life that is full of Thanksgiving, it’s a life that God guides and guards with all jealousy.

Our Thanksgiving gives us access to God to ask for more.

The truth is that God owes us nothing and so if you get angry because there’s something in your life God has not met, you’re only doing yourself harm.

Our breath alone is enough reason to give God thanks, so Thanksgiving ought to be our lifestyle.

2 Corinthians 4:15
Our gratitude glorifies God.
You do not give gratitude to God because of the gifts or whatever He has given you but your gratitude to God should be on the basis of who He is.

  1. Thanksgiving opens our Spiritual eyes. Gratitude helps us to sense God’s presence.
  2. Thanksgiving puts us in God’s will.
When you’re in God’s will, you’re on the right path and direction.
  3. Gratitude brings peace (Philippians 4:6-7)
When you’re a person of gratitude, it brings peace all around you.
  4. Gratitude draws us closer to God.
By virtue of our closeness with God, we experience the Joy of the Lord and the fruits of the spirit is seen evidently in our lives. When you are not a person of gratitude, little things pull you away from God.

Many of us run away from God when we face challenges instead of running to God.
You need to sit down and think back to how God has rescued you from battles before and with that understanding, you thank God because He never changes.

In this season, make thanksgiving your lifestyle.
Whether you’re in a good circumstance or not, let your Thanksgiving never stop because your Thanksgiving draws God closer to you.

  1. Gratitude brings contentment.
Gratitude makes what we have enough for us.
Being thankful is the key to contentment.
  2. Gratitude deepens our faith in God.
Keeping record of God’s past faithfulness helps to deepen our faith in God.
  3. Gratitude brings Joy
    Psalm 126:1-5
When you’re a person of gratitude, Joy is naturally found within you.

Gratitude cancels Satan’s lies.

When you’re a person of gratitude, you see the goodness of God in everything and nobody can tell you otherwise because you have come to a point where you trust and praise God no matter what.

  1. Gratitude helps us to see God in everything.
This week, doors will open for you in the name of Jesus.
