TREAT HER WITH TENDERNESS

“Husbands, you in turn must treat your wives with tenderness, viewing them as feminine partners who deserve to be honored, for they are co-heirs with you of the “divine grace of life,” so that nothing will hinder your prayers.” I Peter 3:7 [TPT]

An atmosphere of instability creates opportunities for losses. The number one reason for financial crisis in marriage is discord between spouses. When spouses are not in good terms, it affect their turnovers. No marriage is too bad that it can’t be made right, and no marriage is too good that it can’t be improved on. God is the originator of marriage; His Word remains the standard for every marriage, home and family. The prescription for men in His Word is that they must treat their wives with tenderness, viewing them as feminine partners who deserve to be honored. Your wife deserves to be honored.

To treat with tenderness is to have feeling of concern, offer gentle affection and create an atmosphere of warmth; a responsibility of the man, and the very response he must offer his wife. As a man, you must be concerned with everything that is a concern to your wife, even when you don’t understand why what is a concern to her is. You are to offer her gentle affection; loving your wife and creating an atmosphere of warmth for her is to your advantage – it exempts you from the list of men whose prayers are hindered and opens you to answered prayers. Never forget, women are emotional and highly sensitive. What touches your wife and make her cry could be so cosmetic to you that you would be wondering why she is crying; some women can actually cry for Africa; whatever the case, you must show gentle affection. You want your prayers to be answered? Treat your wife with tenderness.
