(Key To Staying Relevant In The Move Of God)

We can learn from this; Nehemiah, Ezra and Zerubbabel operated in the same generation but their assignments, even though interconnected by the virtue of dealing with “the same project”, had points of differences.

Nehemiah represents A LEADERSHIP FIGURE.

Ezra represents A MINISTRY FIGURE.

Zerubbabel represents A POLITICAL FIGURE.

Yet these three men operated in the same generation.

In that generation, Nehemiah LED the people to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in 52 days.

So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

Ezra, who was a MINISTRY FIGURE, for he was a PRIEST and a SCRIBE, ministered the laws of God to the post-exile Jewish generation.

EZRA 7:6,10
6 This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.

10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

While Zerubbabel was A GOVERNOR, a modern day politician, and he presided over the governing affairs of the people.

And the LORD stirred up the spirit of ZERUBBABEL THE SON OF SHEALTIEL, GOVERNOR OF JUDAH, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

Yet these three men operated IN THE SAME GENERATION.

As a matter of fact, the Kingdom project of the rebuilding of the temple of the Lord was a rallying point for them, yet they understood their parts and roles in the project.

It’s interesting to also note that in that same generation, two outstanding Prophets of God also ministered to the people of God without anyone trying to outsmart each other – Prophet Haggai and Prophet Zechariah.

EZRA 5:1
Then the prophets, HAGGAI the prophet, and ZECHARIAH the son of Iddo, prophesied unto the Jews that were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, even unto them.

Now because these two Prophets ministered by the anointing of the Spirit, following the order of God for their ministries, and because everyone stood in his place, we saw the impact it had on the work of God in that generation even in the midst of stiff opposition.

EZRA 6:14
And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

This is extremely loaded, with MUCH LESSONS for our generation.

You see, the Kingdom model has been functional and operational from generation to generation, and in our generation, we can’t do lesser.

The reader is reminded that in the Kingdom, DISTINCTION IS NOT DIVISION and also DIVERSITY IS NOT DIVISION.

We’re different in terms of assignments but it’s THE SAME KINGDOM we’re building.

The call of God upon every minister is in the context of the agenda of God for his generation, and when he faithfully pursues it, it will have a ripple effect on his generation and generations to come.

The agenda of God for each generation is like a jigsaw puzzle while the call of God upon each minister in that generation is a bit and piece in that entire jigsaw.

There’s no need for pressure, competition or inferiority complex.

I say this without any reservation; DIFFERENCES should not make you feel INFERIOR.

That your calling and assignment is different from another minister’s should not make you feel INFERIOR or SUPERIOR.

You should rather play your own part and work assiduously while God makes it a beauty to behold.

The reason many ministers are feeling threatened and intimidated by what others are doing is that they are not focusing on their own assignments – their own parts in the project.

The Scripture tells us:

Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

There are so much to learn in our generation from this episode of the rebuilding of the temple with different people playing different roles.

In our generation, we will see MINISTERS, LEADERS, POLITICIANS, BUSINESS MEN AND WOMEN, PROFESSIONALS, DIPLOMATS, CAREERISTS, ARTISANS, PLUS LOTS MORE (all from the Christian fold) and we will all be building the same project – THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Also, like Prophets Haggai and Zechariah, we will see ministers both of the same ministry stream and of different ministry streams operate in synergy and unity of purpose without giving in to the spirit of competition.

We will have a repeat of what happened in the generation of Dad Hagin, oral Roberts and T. L. Osborn where the three men who belonged to the same generation and even lived within the same premises at a time, undertook their different assignments in understanding of the unity of purpose.

Dad Hagin had a Bible School; Oral Roberts built a University while T. L. Osborn was an apostolic evangelist around the world.

I have a strong witness in my spirit that the understanding of this fundamental Kingdom principle is key to remaining relevant in the move of God in this generation and the generations to come.

I first shared along this line at International School Of Ministry (ISM) Graduation
Service organized by Pastor Femi Lazarus and what a great day it was to the Glory of our God alone.

And I believe it’s both a TIMELY and TIMELESS message for all ministers who desire to remain relevant in the programme of God for their generation.

May the Lord help you dear minister to locate your place and find your generation and may you remain relevant in the eternal scheme of things in Jesus’ Precious Name.

I trust this meets us well Sirs and Mas?
