Mark 16:15 – 16
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Jesus Christ commissioned His disciples with a mandate to evangelize, which entails telling people about the Kingdom of God, and instructing them on the things that are obtainable in the Kingdom, with a view of patterning their lives to align with the realities of God.
This divine mandate set the disciples as watchmen over their immediate environments, cities and countries, hence they were expected to teach, rebuke, correct, and train people in righteousness using the Holy Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16).
However, by virtue of our new birth in Christ, baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, believing and acting on the Word of God, we have become disciples of Christ (Mathew 28:19-20), inundated with the divine mandate of being watchmen over our environment, cities, and countries.
There are many believers oblivious of this fact, hence they condone and support evil, instead of standing at their duty posts as watchmen, instructing people in righteousness to conform to the ways and standards of God.
The Bible makes it clear in the book of Ezekiel 33:7-9, that as a watchman, your duty is to warn the wicked to change their ways, but if you fail to warn the wicked, and they die in their iniquity, their bloods will be required of you.
When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.
But if you warn the wicked, and they refuse to hid your call, you have delivered your soul.
Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
Question of the day?
Are you warning ⚠️ the people of the world about the impending disaster that would befall them if they do not change their ways, or are you indulging them to perpetrate evil?
Line of Action 🎬
1. You must know who you are – A watchman (Disciple of Christ).
2. You must be at your duty post at all times – (Evangelism).
3. Pray for those entangled in sin, that they may be set free through the name of Jesus Christ.
Do have a great day in God’s presence, and do not forget to warn the wicked.
God bless you.
