(Proverbs 25:28) He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
Self-Discipline is a deliberate commitment. Discipline is a deliberate consistent training of the body, soul and spirit to confirm to agreed norm conducive to the set goal. It is the enduring of the days of pains in order to have tomorrow’s gains. Aggressive disposition is the secret of determination to achieve personal development. To be empty in the spirit is to be vulnerable to enemies attacks in life. To increase in demand, you must improve your values. Life is Spiritual, when you discipline yourself to stay built in the Word, you will conquer your world physically. Jesus conquered Himself before He conquered the world.
You cannot conquer your world when you have not conquered yourself. David was able to conquer Goliath but he was not able to conquer himself. Adultery got a better hold of him because he lacks self-discipline. Sampson concerned the Philistines but could not conquer himself, so Delilah finished him. It is impossible to breakthrough in life without conquering yourself. Until you subdue the battle within, you cannot prevail over battles without!
You can conquer the world and still be a problem when you have not conquered yourself. There are two ways to become discipline:
- Challenge your excuses (Luke 14:18). If you want to be self-discipline, kill the habit of making excuses. When you make excuses, you end-up being accused. Lack of self-discipline makes you procrastinate – not able to the right thing at the right time.
- Stay focused on result. Anytime you put your mind on the difficulties of your assignment instead of result, you are likely to be discouraged.
Child of God, Self-discipline is the ability you have to control and motivate yourself, stay on track and do what is right. It is the training and control of oneself and one’s conduct, usually for personal improvement. Receive grace for self-discipline in Jesus name!
Meditation: Self-discipline is the ability you have to control and motivate yourself, stay on track and do what is right.
