THE BENEFITS OF INTEGRITY – Apostle Joshua Talena

(Proverbs 10:9) The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.

Integrity is best defined by some synonyms, such as “honesty, faithfulness, sincerity and innocence. Integrity simply means, God can count on you, you can be trusted, you will keep your word and you are not for sale at any price. Integrity is what distinguishes a man. God loves and places value on integrity.

In Proverbs 11:3, the Bible says “The integrity of the upright guides him, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity”. And in 1 Chronicles 29:17, David said “I know my God, that He test the heart and are pleased with integrity”. That tells us two things. First, that God does indeed search the human heart. Second, what God is looking for inside the human heart is integrity. In 1 Kings 9:4-5, the Lord said to Solomon, “If you walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever”. God told Solomon that He values integrity so much, that if he would be a man of integrity as David was, what God did for David, his father, He would do for Solomon, and even more than that, and establish him on his throne forever.

People watch to see if your behavior matches your beliefs, if your walk matches your talk, if your character matches your confession and if what you claim to believe on Sunday is what you practice on Monday. The Bible is no more being preached according to Matthew, Mark and Luke, it is now being preached according to your lifestyle. Does what you claim to be (a Christian) match your action, behavior and character? Beloved, the hallmark of the Christian life is integrity. Live what you profess and profess what you live. Be a person of integrity. Shalom!
