The true test of your spiritual strength is your ability to bear the infirmity of the weak. The true mark of spiritual strength is not control, intimidation or subjugation but meekness, brokenness and forbearance.
In your daily engagement and interaction with life, you will meet people who are feeble in the truest sense of that word; you will encounter people whom you’re stronger than in all fronts; you’ll cross the path of people who live at the mercy of the situations and circumstances of life.
The Word of God says:
Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
It also says:
We then that are STRONG ought to bear the infirmities of the WEAK, and not to please ourselves.
The world is bleeding. People are wounded. Families are broken. Hopes are shattered. Dreams are frustrated. Strength is waned. Fountains are dried.
And now, the foundation of the earth seems to be out of course. The more reason you have to rise up this hour to offer succour to a dying world and become an instrument of peace in a world of dissension.
You never know how strong you are until you put up with someone who is weaker than you.
You never know how humble you are until you serve those whom you’re better placed than.
You never know how loving you are until you pray and keep praying for those who offended you.
I know it’s the most difficult, if not the most impossible thing to do on your flesh, but we walk by faith and not by sight – 2Cor.5:7.
Have you ever met people who say, “I can’t take any rubbish from anyone”? And understandably, they’re being sincere.
But beloved, if you ever want to go far and fast with God, you must be ready to take some rubbish from people.
I don’t mean the extreme form of docility where your head eventually becomes a heap of refuse due to your constant intake of rubbish.
But the message is this; people act to the degree of their knowledge. Had they known better, they would have done better.
You don’t have control over the ACTION of others; you only have control over your own REACTION to their action, and it must be of love.
Sometimes you wonder, “How could a human being ever behave like this?”. But beloved, you keep walking in love, for LOVE NEVER FAILS – 1Cor.13:8!
Spiritual people don’t use power to CONTROL others; they use it to SERVE others.
The more you grow in the things of God, you more you realize that POWER is not the primary proof of intimacy with God; it is BROKENNESS. It is MEEKNESS.
You have great power with God but you’re meek with the use of it. People step on your toes and you still BLESS them; not raining CURSES on them – that’s spiritual strength!
You’ve got to be gentle unto all men – 2Tim.2:24. Be prepared to take some rubbish beloved.
Jesus was subjected to ignominy but he neither spoke a word nor did He raise a finger – 1 Pet. 2:22-23.
Yet He had power with God but He was MEEK in heart – Matt. 11:29.
Moses also demonstrated supernatural power at its peak but he was the MEEKEST man in his time – Num. 12:3.
If you’ve ever seen an heavyweight lifter carry a newborn baby, the care and caution with which he carries that fragile specie is a picture of GENTLENESS – it is POWER UNDER CONTROL.
Despite all the Holy-Ghost electromagnetic power flowing in His veins, our Lord Jesus Christ still carried a little child in His arms and also laid hands on little children – Mk.9:36, Matt. 19:13 – that’s GENTLENESS at its peak!
My Friend, you have a long way to go and your future is great. Therefore walking in love is not an option for you.
You must lift up the hands which hang down and the feeble knees. Sometimes the people you’re trying to help will attack you but your heart must be large enough to walk in love.
It’s just like you see some funny patients abuse Doctors and Nurses in the process of treatment because they’re feeling pain despite the fact that it’s for their own good.
But you see, those health care providers don’t care; their goal is to get the patient recuperated and that alone is enough motivation for them to keep administering their treatment.
Beloved, be ready to take some rubbish from people. You’ll not be the first or only person to do that. Keep helping people. Keep encouraging people.
A simple smile on your face can heal deep-seated wound in someone. A phone call, chat, or text message can get someone back on his feet.
A little pat on the back or “side hug” can make someone rescind a suicidal decision. A little gift of cash or kind can offer hope to the weary.
I can’t tell you authoritatively that I’m at the ultimate level I desire to get to yet but I’m getting better and I’m sure you’re getting better too, for we’re not yet PERFECT; we are being PERFECTED as PERFECTING SAINTS OF GOD by the Spirit!
At times the “old man” appears as if it wants to “resurrect” and you feel like saying, “I won’t take that rubbish”, but friend, as we learn to walk by faith and submit more to the prompting of the Spirit in our hearts, we will get GREATER RESULTS in our LOVE WALK.
The Word tells us:
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one IN THE SPIRIT OF MEEKNESS; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. note
2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
The spirit of meekness – that’s the hallmark of spiritual strength. Knowing how to bear the infirmity of the weak is the truest test of our spiritual strength, and LOVE is at the very heart of it.
Let’s walk in love!
Love will heal our world!!
Love is the way to victory!!!
I trust this is a blessing Sirs and Mas?
