BIBLE VERSE:
Jeremiah 3:12
“Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say: ‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says the Lord;‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you.For I am merciful,’ says the Lord;‘I will not remain angry forever.”
COUNSEL:
God is indeed a loving Father who is very rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4), and willing to forgive the sins of sinners, when they admit their transgressions. He is not pleasured at the death of a sinner, but takes delight when the wicked turns from his wicked ways to a life that is acceptable unto God (Ezekiel 18:23). This is the daily desire and heartbeat of God towards sinners.
Are you currently living the type of life that does not depict the image and likeness of God? He is calling you unto repentance, with the assurance of a fresh start, through the cleansing power of the blood Jesus Christ.
How do you avail yourself this opportunity?
1. You must acknowledge your iniquities before God. This is a state of admitting your wrongs, by comparing it to the truth of God (Jeremiah 3:13).
2. Ask God for mercy, to forgive you and cleanse you through the blood of Jesus Christ. The provision for mercy and cleansing has been made available by God, but it’s your responsibility to access it through Jesus Christ (1 John 1:9).
3. Put away every filthy garment, and embrace the lifestyle prescribed by God (Ezekiel 18:31).
4 Feed daily on the word of God, for spiritual growth, and associate yourself with the right company that will sharpen and shapen you in the way of the Lord (Proverbs 27:17).
