Today’s Word (26/12/2020): PREPARE THE WORLD FOR HIS COMING

Matthew 3:2

and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

The first coming of Jesus Christ (His Birth), was precendented by two significant features;

1. Prophecies

2. Way making

These two features were pointers to His coming. Prophet Isaiah prophesied about His coming, and the nature of His birth (Isaiah 7:14), Micah prophesied about the location of His birth, and His origin (Micah 5:2) etc. John the Baptist was known for his significant role in preparing the way for Jesus Christ, through his evangelistic ministry ( Mathew 3:2-3).

In the kingdom of God, nothing happens by chance, because It is built to operate on functional processes, hence just like the days of Prophet Isaiah, to the days of John the Baptist, these processes are already in operation to herald the second coming of Jesus Christ.

1. The prophecy:

Jesus Christ prophesied of His second coming (John 14:3), and this was confirmed by the clear evidence of His death and ascension into Heaven, as He seats at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19).

2. Way Making:

Every believer, as disciples of Jesus Christ, have been commissioned to make way for the second coming of Jesus Christ, by teaching men and women to observe all things as commanded us by God, making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, till the end of the age (Mathew 28:19-20).

However, it is imperative that we study the prophecy of Jesus Christ carefully, with respect to His second coming, and prepare ourselves adequately by adhering to all that is required of us.

God bless you.
