FUEL FOR PRAISE (AND WORSHIP) (1&2) – Dr. Paul Enenche

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): PSALM 8:1-End; 100:1-3

SERVICE OBJECTIVE(S): Understanding the factors that fuel the lifestyle of praise and worship

As fuel intensifies the strength of fire, there are factors that fuel our praise and worship
We live in a world today that is on a head-on collision with our praise lives; everything around wants to take the praise out of our mouths

FUEL FOR PRAISE (AND WORSHIP):
1. The attitude of joyfulness (Jam. 5:13; Ps. 42:4; Isa. 61:3; Jer. 33:11; Ps. 51:10-13)
Joyfulness equals praisefulness; provided your joy is intact, your praise will be intact
Anywhere there is the voice of joy, there will be the voice of praise
The Oil of joy is always the companion of the garment of praise (Isa. 61:3)
The Voice of joy will always flow into the voice of praise
Any activity that enhances your joy will facilitate your praise (Luke 10:17; Phil. 4:4)
Anything that tampers with your joy will tamper with your praise e.g. sin, revelling in depression (Ps. 51:10-13)
Anytime the devil wants to attack your life, he attacks your praise

2. The possession of understanding (Ps. 47:7; Isa. 43:21; Ps. 102:18; 148:5; 150: 6; 104:33; 146:2)
Understanding is a facilitator of praise; the depth of your understanding affects the depth of your praise (Ps. 47:7)
2a. Understanding why you were created facilitates your praise (Isa. 43:21; Ps. 102:18; 148:5)
If our creation was not our decision, our existence cannot be our design
God commanded us to be created to praise Him (Ps. 148:5)
2b. Understanding why we live (Ps. 150:6; 104:33; 119:175; 146:2)
Your praise is your license for living
Your praise is your license for living

3. Reflection on the goodness of God (Ps. 107:8-9; 15-16, 31-32; 92:1-2)
When you reflect on the goodness of God both in your life and in the lives of others, it will explode in uncontrollable praise
The more you appreciate His goodness, the more of His goodness you will see
If you meditate on the goodness of God, it will facilitate your praise

4. The fullness of the Spirit (Acts 2:1-4, 7-11; Eph. 5:18-20; Rom. 14:17)
The Spirit of God will activate joy and joy will facilitate praise

FUEL FOR PRAISE (AND WORSHIP):
B1. The attitude of thankfulness (Ps. 100:4; 69:30-31; 147:7)
Thankfulness is a major doorway to praisefulness; to be thankful is to be effortlessly praiseful (Ps. 100:4)
If you are not lacking in thanks, you can never be lacking in praise (Ps. 69:30-31)
For as long as you can see something to thank God for, you will always see something to praise God for
1a. Determine to be on the lookout for something to thank God for permanently
Thank God for it then proceed in praise
1b. Thank God for every good thing you see on the way to where you are going
You don’t wait until you reach your destination before you thank God; that is waiting for too long
When you thank God for minor victories, you will begin to see major victories
The more thankful you are, the more you will have to be thankful for; if you are thankful, you won’t lack reasons for thanks.
When you are thankful, you are set for your tank to be full!

B2. The possession of revelation (John 4:23-24; 17:17b; Jer. 15:16; Ps 119:162; 71:22; Ps. 56:4, 10)
Revelation is a major facilitator of adoration; the deeper your revelation the deeper your adoration
The deeper your light, the deeper your worship
WHAT KIND OF REVELATION DEEPENS YOUR PRAISE?
2a. The revelation of Who God is (John 4:23-24; 17:17b)
2b. The revelation of the Word (Jer. 15:16; Ps 119:162; 71:22; Ps. 56:4, 10)
Wordfulness equals praisefulness

B3. Appreciating God’s Work of creation causes praise to flow (Ps. 8:1-4; 19:1-2; 89:5; 148:1-4)
Scientists have discovered that nature and creation release a vibration that is literally praising and giving glory to God
All of nature and creation flows in praise to God

B4. Faith in God’s faithfulness (Ps. 106:12; Rom. 4:20; 1Pet. 1:8)
Belief in the reliability of God triggers praise
Where faith is strong, praise is strong
Where faith is found, praise is natural
The absence of faith is the death of praise; the presence of doubt is the death of praise
It is not your condition that is responsible for your lack of praise, it is your conviction

COUNSEL:
Do everything you can to keep your praise flowing for the following reasons:
a. Your praise compels Divine attention (Acts 16:25)
b. Your praise compels Divine intervention (Acts 16:25)
c. Your praise compels Divine habitation (Ps. 22:3)

To remain in praise, continue to charge your faith and starve your doubt

PRAYER
Father, thank You for Your Word to us today. To You be all the glory Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
