BIBLE VERSE:
1 Samuel 12:23
Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way.
COUNSEL:
The book of 1 Samuel 12:23 contains two kingdom assignments which every believer must partake in regularly.
If I were to ask a question by saying, have you prayed today? Many would answer in the affirmative, but if I were to ask another question by saying, who did you pray for? You would discover that quite a large number of people only prayed for themselves.
Prayer is not a self centred venture were only personal needs are communicated to God, but a powerful medium of intercession. The bible admonishes us in the book of James 5:16, to pray for one another.
If we do not pray for one another, it is regarded as an act of negligence (Ephesians 6:18, James 5:16; 4:17) on our part and a sin. When we intercede or offer supplication for the saints, we are carrying out the will of God, in obedience to His word.
Moreover, as children of God, it is also our responsibility to teach the good and right way, by leading people to Jesus Christ through the ministration of sound biblical doctrines (Titus 2:1, 1 Timothy 4:6), and good conduct ( Philippians 1:27).
As you step out today;
* PRAY FOR SOMEONE
* LEAD SOMEONE TO JESUS CHRIST
God bless you, and do have a wonderful day.
