1. There is no where in scripture that God demands that those in authority must be aligned with our own faith and “on the side of God” for Him to fulfil his will through us. Herod was a hostile king when Jesus was born yet God went ahead. Jesus ministered successfully in that era and fulfilled all God commanded.
2. Jesus did not demand the king align his faith with his. The early Church ministered, grew and multiplied in many cases through the hostility of authority just as the Jews multiplied when oppressed in Egypt.
What we are asked to do is to pray for those in authority regardless through that Paul taught that we will live a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness.
3. God is big, powerful and wise enough to handle his business regardless of who holds political power. Even the “negative” push back against his people always ends up fulfilling the prophetic scripture once the Church is praying.
