STILL CONNECTED? – Olumide Fatunsin

Just this morning as I was about to iron my shirt, I plugged the iron to the extension box and waited for few seconds as usual. Then, I started ironing before I realised the extension box wasn’t even plugged to the wall socket. If I had my way, I would have spanked myself for that silly oversight. I had assumed it was already plugged because we hardly removed it, especially in the morning.

Later, as I ruminated on it, I realised the same thing sometimes happen in our spiritual walk with God and spiritual activities.

We read our Bible, pray as usual, go to church, but totally disconnected from God.

We are so busy with our church/ministry activities thinking God is aware and pleased, but we are already disconnected from His grace and direction.

We may be preaching as usual, but God’s power is absent in our messages. It may reach the head but definitely not the heart.

Everthing may look normal between the husband and wife, but the love communication is gone.

We may put up the appearances of godliness, but the inner voice of the Holy Spirit has since left.

No wonder the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:5, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

Let’s endeavour to check our relationship with God.
Are we still following Him genuinely?
Are we still hearing the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit?

Let’s evaluate our spiritual activities.
Are we still doing the right assignments without eye-service or sentiment?
What are our motives?

Let’s check our relationship with our spouses? Is the true love burning in our hearts or are we just patching it up with grumblings?

The wall socket of God’s power, grace and love is still available.

Let’s get connected and everything will start working in our favour in Jesus name.

Get connected!
Get fired up!
Keep soaring in His power!
