When she was about to cross the road, a motorcyclist on high speed was coming from the other side .
“Sophia… Sophia… S..o..p..h..i..a” The man shouted when he saw the motorcyclist.
To avoid hitting her, he swerved to the right side and hit a pole. The cry of the motorcyclist made Sophia to rise up from the ground.
“Are you OK? Sir, is everything fine?” She asked impatiently.
The motorcyclist didn’t respond but the other man chasing her lifted him up.
“He has some scratches on his head, right hand and legs. He will be fine.” He said without looking at her.
“Who are you? You must be a bad omen creator.” she railed at him.
“Sophia, let’s help this man on time.” He lifted him and waved down a taxi.
“Who are you? How did you know my name?” she queried.
The taxi zoomed off when he noticed they were busy with their discussion.
He stretched forth his right hand and introduced himself,
“I am Vincent, the husband of Stella.”
“Oh, the lady from Sierra Leone? Why were you chasing me?”
“You will understand later. We are on the battle field.”
The motorcyclist turned and looked at him,
“I am OK. Nothing happened to me. Let’s go home” he spoke incoherently.
“Mister, you aren’t OK yet. We will take you to the hospital” She replied while he held his head in pain.
Then his phone rang and he managed to pick it.
“Hello Boss, I am yet to see Sophia. I will get back to you.”
When Sophia heard their conversation, she withdrew from helping him.
However, Vincent pulled her back and whispered into her left ear,
“This is an opportunity for us.”
They lifted him, hailed another taxi and took him to his rented house. He was so weak when they took him in. Since the impact wasn’t serious, he gave him a pain relief medicine. After a while, he slept off.
Sophia turned to him and asked him about his plans.
Vincent didn’t answer as he kept checking something on the motorcyclist’s phone.
“Hello Mister! I need to go and sleep in an hotel. Bye!”
He looked at her and pointed at the wall clock,
“At this time of the night? Don’t you understand the situation on ground?”
“I am leaving. Do you have another assignment for me?” She protested.
“Yes. The assignment is that when you get there, greet some of my enemies who had gone to heaven already. You can go but remember to greet my great grandmother too.”
“What do you mean? Do you want to kill me?” she asked.
He rushed towards her with a clenched fist and shouted,
“Why don’t you understand? Your enemies are after you and you still want to walk into their traps. Don’t be naive!”
She didn’t answer but went into the kitchen to take a knife.
“One of my enemies is sleeping right in front of me. He will deliver your message to your enemies in heaven.”
He rushed at her to collect the knife from her.
“Are you out of your mind?” He roared.
“How will you know where your sister is? Be wise!” He tried to explain to her.
He picked the motorcyclist’s phone and showed her one of the recent text messages.
After reading it, she sank into one of the sofas. She sobbed and looked at him,
“Why do you want to help me?”
As soon as he sat down to explain his mission, the motorcyclist sprang up pointing his pistol at Sophia.
“Hahahaha… We have caught you.”
Vincent quietly moved towards the …
