Helping people is godly and good but making people dependants on you through the “good” you do is ungodly – Pst. Poju Oyemade

Helping people is godly and good but making people dependants on you through the “good” you do is ungodly. It starts becoming counter productive when your “help” develops in people a beggarly attitude or an inferiority complex. Whether its through financial help or mentoring.

Jesus at some point said, “It is more expedient for you that I go away” and then he later on said when am gone these works shall you do also and even greater works these shall you do. There is something about teaching and imparting then releasing people to stand on their feet.

Jesus made it clear that his continual physical presence will become counter productive as far as fulfilling their own destiny was concerned.

People must be taught to stand on their feet, to think for themselves and know how to search for the truth and find solutions to their challenges.
