(James 4:1) From whence come war and fighting among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts and war in your members?
This age is full of shams. Hypocrisy and pretence never stood in so eminent a position as it does at the present times. Jesus constantly warned us against hypocrisy (see Matthew 23:12; and Luke 12:1). Hypocrisy deceives the people, damages unbelievers and dishonours God.
There is so much strife and contentions among members and among the body of Christ. In Matthew 12:25, the Bible says, “Every kingdom divided against itself, is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself, shall not stand”. How can you be ‘worshipping’ God, but inside your heart lies wickedness, jealousy, backbiting, envy, false witnessing, covetousness, hatred, malice, ungodly plans and wickedness. How can ‘believers’ gather, but within them there is tussle for power, position, fame, division, acrimony, superiority, supremacy and hatred. Most believers profess love, but rejoice at the downfall of another. They even plot the downfall. Is this not hypocrisy? The good thing about life is that you cannot increase the lightening or brightness of your candle when you put off another person’s own.
People no longer fear God. They can be serving communion, meanwhile filled with hatred, jealousy, pride, fornication, adultery, arrogance and all sorts of satanic behaviours. They can walk majestically to the altar of the Almighty God to drop offering and sow seed, meanwhile they are going out with another brother’s wife. How can you be beating your wife and still be beating band in the church. Even satan is amazed at this level of hypocrisy in our churches these days.
The pastors are busy preaching messages that will fill their auditoriums (conducting first, second, third, fourth even to sixth services), and boasting about their wealth, while the members God has given to them to edify and purify are on the speed lane on the expressway to hell. No more Christ centered messages that can touch the heart of men for fear of losing members.
Hypocrisy had caused many believers to toss caution out the window. They want to win the argument at all cost (read 1 Timothy 6:4). Church members are no longer broken. Gone are the days when a brother will not be able to go home until he had made peace with his brother. Today, they can bear grudge even with the pastor and still sow dangerous seeds on the Altar. The time for Christ’s second coming is at hand. Brethren, the time is too short and judgment is at the corner. Be warned!
Meditation: Church members are no longer broken. Gone are the days when a brother will not be able to go home until he had made peace with his brother.
