The Highest Title In The Church – Ebele UzoPeters

If Emeka goes to England to study medicine as an undergraduate course, he will be called Mr. Emeka like everybody else who is male. The moment he qualifies as a doctor, he will be called Dr. Emeka. If he then decides to study or do his residency program in surgery; when he finishes, Dr. Emeka’s official title will be Mr. Emeka

In the medical world, when it comes to the royal college of surgeons; Mister is higher than Doctor. Once you hear them call a doctor Mister so-so and so, that means he is a fellow of the royal college of surgeons (FRCS). Lay people may call him Dr. Emeka, but medical people will not make that mistake. To call an FRCS Mister a Dr. So-so and so; is a downgrade.

Just as “degrading” as it is to call a doctor, Mister kinikan kinikan, so is it degrading to call a surgeon Doctor kinikan kinikan. No no no no. You must call him by his higher title Mr. Emeka. When they say the surgeon coming is Mr. Emeka; all the doctors and nurses know that this is a product of royal college training.

Do you know why that postgraduate colleges call all their surgeons Mister? I’ve written about this on Facebook before, but let me summarise the story

So many years ago in England, doctors couldn’t perform surgery. So they’d call members of the association of butchers and barbers to do the surgeries under their guidance. The physicians were called doctors and the butchers were called misters. One was upper class and the other lower class and the distinction was very sharp and well maintained. They did not mix. After any surgical operation, the doctors went out through the front door to take all the glory, while the misters went out thought the back door.

Then the butchers and barbers started going to medical school. That was the birth of surgeons. Now, when they qualified as doctors, they decided to retain their Mr. title to prove to the association of doctors that their Dr. they had used to oppress them for such a long time, was actually a lesser title.

This is why the Bible says

1 Corinthians 1:26-29
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.

Fellows of the Royal Court of Saints; God has chosen the nobodies to shame the somebodies. Don’t be deceived by titles that you see around like superapostle, superevangelist archbishop general, general overseer intercontinental and supernova; there is no title in the college of the Lord greater than Brother or Sister.

I’m not saying we don’t need bishops or pastors or even archbishops etc; and we know that these are not merely titles but titles of anointings and offices; yet they are necessary for the administration of the church. Administration is a very important thing. Even in a spiritually sound fellowship of a few brothers and sisters with no titles; every member who is spiritually awake will know there is a hierarchy and their place in it.

What I’m saying is, and several of our general overseers know this. They may be lifted up by many, but they never lose their brother or sister status. They may be called Daddy by many, but they remain children of God. It may be necessary to call them pastor or reverend for order sake, but they see every member of the church as their brother and sister.

Just as Emeka once was a Mr. who became a Dr. and then a Mr. again; the higher you go in the body of Christ, the more you find yourself to be a Brother again. You will have many calling you Pastor, but you will be most grateful to fellowship with those who know you as Brother. You will have many demons subject to you in Jesus’ name and accomplish many mighty ministerial feats; but your great joy will be that your name is written in the Book of Life.

Because….Fellows of the Royal Court of Saints; if the greatest title of God in the New Testament is not Provider or Healer or Creator or Almighty; but …..The Father

Then the highest title in the church is not apostle, or prophet, or evangelist, or elder.

It is Brother
It is Sister
