Troubles are not new to the world, infact it has become part of it. In the Holy Bible, a man called Job said in his trying moments, “For affliction does not come from the dust, Nor does trouble spring from the ground;Yet man is born to trouble, As the sparks fly upward”. Jesus Christ also while admonishing His disciples told them that they would have troubles in the world. David who is described as a man after God’s heart, also had his share of several tribulations, same with prophet Elijah, Apostle Paul, the list goes on…
The certainty of tribulations are sure, but what makes a difference is the behaviour, and approach applied by a person when confronted with such situations.
Tribulations seeks to attack or stifle the following in the life of an individual:
7. Mental, physical and spiritual health etc.
The aforementioned points are requirements that keeps a person stable both physically and spiritually, hence when such essential requirements are attacked or distorted, it could be devastating if not properly managed.
How should we manage crisis or troubled times?
1. STAY IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulations; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” ~ JOHN 16:33 (NKJV).
To stay in the presence of God, means to focus on God, live in Him and enjoy every benefit that is accompanied with His environment. The presence of God creates an environment that is not and cannot be controlled by earthly forces, but only the Spirit of God. This in essence means that you could be going through tough times or tribulations, but you are not in the environment of that situation, because you have made the decision to encapsulate yourself in the presence of God, inorder to enjoy the benefits of His environment.
Trials and tribulations come with a presence or creates an environment which seeks to stifle our peace, joy, rest, faith in God, hence creating an impression that we are stuck and would never find an escape route out of the situation. This is the illusion that trials and tribulations create, but my bible tells me in the book of Mathew 19:26, that with God all things are possible.
Jesus Christ while admonishing His disciples in the book of John 16:33, made two essential remarks which illustrates two environments and their benefits –In Me (Jesus Christ) >>> Peace, in the world >>>Tribulations. Jesus Christ was telling His disciples to exist in the world but live inside Him, because if they live inside of Him, peace is assured, and since He (Jesus Christ) has overcomed the world, they are assured of victory by virtue of their residence in Him (Jesus Christ).
Our residence in Jesus Christ, assures us of our continuous peace, Joy, rest, provisions, stability both in physical and spiritual dimensions, irrespective of the situations at hand. Whenever afflictions or tribulations come our way, we should make the decision to live in Christ and not our tribulations, for only then can we maintain our stability for the manifestation of our victory.
….To be continued.
