Where are the friends of God ~ Ebele Uzorpeters

It is true that Jesus was a friend to sinners(Luke 7:34); what you may not know is that: they were not friends to Him(John 15:15)

He was their Friend.
They were not His friends.

To them, He was a Friend
To Him, they were not friends
They were sinners. Sinners He had befriended.
But who could not befriend Him.

Not everyone knows this…

I may be a friend to you,
Even though you are not a friend to me

I may sit with you, eat with you, laugh with you
And carry your burdens; but I take my own burdens elsewhere

When Jesus wanted to pray
He didn’t take any sinners along
He took disciples

When Jesus went up the mount of transfiguration
He didn’t the any sinners along
He took disciples

When Jesus wanted to send out 70 people
He didn’t send any sinners out there
He sent disciples

When Jesus was in agony and needed support
He didn’t choose sinners to watch with him
He took disciples

When Jesus wanted to eat His last and most iconic meal
He didn’t invite sinners.
He invited disciples

Many people don’t know the difference
They feel they are close to God because they tell him about their hair and their clothes

But hair and eyelashes and wardrobe fashion
Are not the things of God.

God is close to them
But they are not close to God

This is why the Bible says the natural man does not understand the things of the Spirit of God; and does not know them because they are spiritually discerned

I’m sorry o; but if what makes you excited about your fellowship with the Holy Spirit are things like your shoes, your make up and your suit: natural things
You have never been close to God

God is close to us because He became Man and loves man and knows the things of man
Likewise only those who know the things of God can be His friend, or close to Him

One dear lady was telling me the other day, a few months ago how I am not her friend and don’t love her and don’t know the things going on in her life.

She then said “But Sister so-so-and-so loves her and they are friends!”

I said “No. You are not friends. Sister so-so-and-so is your friend; but you, my dear, are not her friend.”

She didn’t agree with me. “Oh, but we are friends. I’m telling you!”

So I asked her “Didn’t you say she asks after you all the time and takes time to listen to you and encourage you and you can tell her anything?”

“Yes!” She replied “Unlike you!”😁

I then asked “But can she tell you anything about herself? Do you know what is happening in Sister so-so-and-so’s life?”

She blinked. She understood.

We started talking more and I became a better friend; but just as it is true for Sister So-so-and-so; so it was for me.

She could not be my friend. We simply do not operate on the same frequency. We don’t think about the same things. What she wants to be preoccupied with are not important to me; and what is important to me are things she doesn’t treasure as priority.

I can be her friend but she cannot be mine.

Who were the friends of Jesus? Let’s look at that John 15:15

John 15:15
I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.

Those who know the things of Jesus
The heartbeat of Jesus
The sufferings of Jesus
The lordship of Jesus
The compassion of Jesus
The glory of Jesus
The instructions of Jesus
The lifestyle of Jesus

Those are His friends.

Not the ones He is a Friend to
But the ones that are friends to Him

Not everyone that Jesus has friended
Has also friended Jesus

And not everyone whom God has loved
Love Him.

That is why Romans 8:28 is specific

It does not say all things work together for the good of those WHOM GOD LOVES; but for those

WHO LOVE GOD.
